Dr. med. Gül Schmidt

is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery and has specialised in the treatment of cleft lip and palate, the Pierre Robin sequence and other facial malformations for over 20 years. During her time as senior physician and head of the cleft lip and palate department at the Charité in Berlin, she not only gained extensive surgical experience, but also conducted and published groundbreaking research that has international influence and significance. From her many years of experience, she has developed the idea of building a competent, interdisciplinary team to achieve the best possible functional and aesthetic results for children.

Dipl.Ing. Gudrun Ellinghaus

is a non-medical practitioner for psychotherapy, child and adolescent family counsellor, trained mediator and organises case management for Dr Schmidt. She offers psycho-social counselling for expectant mothers/parents and families, which ranges from relieving conversations to tips on nutrition and financial support options. As she herself and one of her children were affected by a lip/cleft-palate, she can draw on her personal experience and professional expertise.

Dr. med. Dr. med. dent. Jürgen Ervens

Dr Jürgen Ervens, Mund-Kiefer-Gesichtschirurg

is Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Vivantes Hospital in Berlin-Neukölln. He has been a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery since 1997 and has held the additional qualification ‘Plastic Surgery’ since 2001. In 2010, he became a member of the Berlin Interplast team, focusing on craniofacial malformations, reconstructions of tumours in the maxillofacial region and aesthetic reconstructive facial surgery. Together with Dr Schmidt, he operated on lip and palate malformations at the Charité for several years.

Dr. med. Henning Freiherr von Gregory

has been a specialist in plastic and aesthetic surgery since 2008. He specialises in aesthetic, functional and reconstructive nasal surgery. This includes complicated corrections of noses that have been operated on several times, the correction of congenital malformations and the highly complex, all-layer partial and total reconstruction of the nose in one or more stages. Dr von Gregory is constantly involved in the scientific development of facial and nasal surgery. This includes numerous scientific publications, lectures and educational films as well as the establishment of an international network.
